The Snaptu Network
Snaptu's The Snaptu network is a managed environment of Internet servers, gateways and client applications, which provides a complete solution for developing, deploying and maintaining online services. The Snaptu network is composed of the following components:

  • The Snaptu Servers - The Snaptu Server array is a secure, scalable platform that handles the provisioning and management of online content and services from our partners’ systems to the client residing on the end users’ mobile phones. The Snaptu Server is capable of interfacing with a variety of different data sources and service providers, including informational data (e.g. financial, weather, news), rich content (e.g. images, video), transactional services (e.g. booking tickets or placing a bet), advertising and more.
  • The Snaptu Client - The Snaptu Client is a tiny downloadable application which runs on most Java-enabled mobile devices and is designed to offer users a single point of access to online content and services from multiple separate sources. The existence of the Snaptu Client on the user’s mobile phone enables us to develop content solutions which offer superior user interface optimized for the wireless platform.

Snaptu Applications
Snaptu applications are distilled versions of a service provider's content re-purposed into highly usable mobile offering. They consist of three parts:

  • Graphics and User Interface definitions
  • Interface to online content and services. Snaptu can interface the partners' content using RSS, REST, and Web Services APIs. Tools for querying information directly from HTML, XHTML and WAP are also available
  • Optional additional logic. Additional logic that is specific to the Snaptu application can be easily added using Java. For example, an add-on can automatically detect whether a user entered a valid post code and automatically fill in a hidden form field for the user

Snaptu Connections To Your Content & Services
Our Snaptu servers are designed to work both on a Real Time information transfer basis or scheduled update events.

  • Snaptu uses HTTP requests in the format of RSS, REST or Web Services, in addition to standard queries from HTML, XHTML and WAP
  • API is the preferred method, since it gives you the flexibility and freedom to change your website without interfering with the operability of the Snaptu application
  • HTTPS is also supported for secured transactions
  • No change to your system is necessary
